About

A group that builds businesses as systems.

SULTAN INNOVATION GROUP founds businesses, develops them or partners in them. Each business operates under its own brand and in its own field, and the shared aim is that each one can operate and grow in its own right.

Who we are

What the group does, and what it does not do.

The services and products are delivered by the businesses themselves, each under its own brand and with its own customers. The role of SULTAN INNOVATION GROUP sits at another level: founding businesses, developing them, or joining them as a partner.

The relationship between the group and each business can differ: a business the group founds from the start, a business it develops together with partners, or a business it joins as a partner. What the group seeks to bring to each of them is the same principle: documented knowledge, clear processes and technology in place of repetitive work.

  1. Founding from the start
  2. Developing together with partners
  3. Joining as a partner

The structure

Two levels, each with a clear role.

At the group level

  • The vision and principles that guide the work with each business.
  • Founding, developing and partnering in new businesses.
  • A long-term view of all the businesses together.

At the level of each business

  • Its own brand and field of expertise.
  • The service, the product and the relationship with customers.
  • Processes and systems suited to its field.

Before every new business

Three questions before building a business.

These are not formal procedures, but questions that express the way the group thinks about a new business.

  1. Is there a real problem here?

A business starts with a need of people or of other businesses, not with an idea that sounds good. If you cannot clearly explain whom it helps and how, it is too early to build it.

  2. Can the solution be built as a system?

A solution that depends on one person's time is limited from the start. The question is which parts of the work can become a process, a product or technology, and which must stay with people.

  3. Can the business keep developing for years?

The test is not only the result in the first year, but the ability of the business to keep growing and improving, even when it no longer depends on one person.

A group, not a single business

Learning that carries forward.

One of the possible advantages of a group over a single business is that learning can carry forward. The aim is that what worked, and what did not, in the marketing, technology and management of one business can serve the next one.

All without compromising the independence of each business: its brand, its field and the way it works.
